不知大家是否还记得几年前台湾女歌手苏慧伦唱红过一首名为“Lemon Tree“的翻唱歌曲，此曲原唱者便是一支名不见经传的德国乐队Fool’s Garden 。凭借正当走红的苏慧伦的“引荐”，Fool's Garden不失时机来东南亚做宣传，并发行了这张《FOR SALE -- 出售》专辑，提高了知名度。90年代中后期的 Brit-Pop 潮流，在音乐上的一个重要特征便是回归六、七十年代的音乐风格，象 The Beatles、The Rolling Stones 、The Who 、The Smiths 等便是不少新晋乐队吸收模仿的对象。远在德国小城 Magstadt 的 5人乐队 Fool's Garden 虔诚地承传了The Beatles的遗风，无论歌曲的旋律、节奏，还是演唱表演风格，都模仿得维妙维肖。“Lemon Tree”的确很出彩，《FOR SALE》也相当有趣。相比之下新专辑则多了份沉稳，显得颇为内敛。新专辑显示了Fool's Garden走出模仿，探索自我风格的努力。象“Who Are You”、“Missing”、“Save Me”、“In The Name”、“Still”、“Happy”都已明显走出了The Beatles的影子。歌词创作也从叙事为主走向叙事与感性抒发并重。喜爱“Lemon Tree”的朋友可以从“It Can Happen”、“Allright”、“Suzy”等曲子中获得满足。
