虽然唱的抒情歌曲较多，但现场的观众却大多都非常的热情，而陶喆虽然并未正式预定了与歌迷握手的时间，但看见台下观众对他的支持，也忍不住抛了一句“I think I'm gonna break the rules”（我想我会破个例）冲下台与观众握手，只见大批歌迷涌上前试图与他握手，令全场观众在尖叫间顿时陷入混乱。演唱会接近尾声的时候，更有全场观众大声呼叫encore，而被歌迷的热情感动的陶喆，也以《蝴蝶》和《就是爱你》，在温暖感人的气氛下结束了演唱会。

11. Video played of David narrating a story (in Mandarin) about an
apple tree and a young boy. Very very interesting to hear DT telling
a story actually- cool! Story line: A young boy was friends with an
apple tree. 1 day, the boy told the tree: i need some $. The apple
tree then said : you can take the apples from my tree and sell them
away, as the tree wanted the boy to be happy. Some years later, the
boy who had grown up to be a young man, came to the tree again and
told the tree: i am feeling lonely. The tree then tells him: you can
use my wood and build a boat to explore the world. Even though that
meant sacrificing himself again, the tree was happy to make the boy happy.
Many years later, the young man had grown to become an old man, went
to visit the tree again, now reduced to a stump. The tree asked the
man what he wanted this time, the man said: i am just tired and want
to sit down. so the tree let him sit on his roots. the man then told
the tree: i have a bag of seeds. at this point, he then discovered
the tree had died. The man then scatters the seeds on the ground and
a new tree grows. End of video.
* ps: i may have got some parts of the story a bit "wrong" so please
correct me! would really appreciate that.. :) and if you could, could
someone enlighten me abt the ending? hmmmmm.

among all the things i observed, i will just voice out 1 major
complaint i had: a beautiful stage set-up but photography was
surprisingly super duper prohibited. a really big let-down.
anyway, it was fantastic to hear DT sing live, especially when his
voice and condition are in top form. just brilliant! :)
and yes, last but not least, when David mentioned that Lisa could
speak French well (at #13), it suddenly hit me that THIS WAS THE Lisa
who had previously cut an album in Taiwan some years ago! and I
remember her very well because the publicity of that album was often
focused on Lisa having stayed in France before and being able to speak
fluent French! If i am not wrong, Lisa was also nominated in the
following year's Taiwan Golden Melody Awards (Jin Qu Jiang) for Best
Newcomer award (which I can't remember who won eventually).

WHEN the show began on Saturday night, David Tao's concert suggested it was going to a pretentious affair with the campy stage props.

The stage was draped in faux granite blocks and foliage, with a full-sized helicopter at the centre, hinting that the visual was going to take precedence over the vocal.

But Taiwanese singer-songwriter quickly allayed those fears. For three hours, David allowed his voice to take centrestage.

Performing over 30 songs, the 36-year-old – whose last concert here was in 2003 – displayed his characteristic rich musical texture.

From unplugged tunes like Regular Friends and rock pieces such as Ghost to songs with Chinese influences like Susan Said, David also proved he had the voice to match his repertoire's varied genres.

WHEN the show began on Saturday night, David Tao's concert suggested it was going to a pretentious affair with the campy stage props.

The stage was draped in faux granite blocks and foliage, with a full-sized helicopter at the centre, hinting that the visual was going to take precedence over the vocal.

But Taiwanese singer-songwriter quickly allayed those fears. For three hours, David allowed his voice to take centrestage.

Performing over 30 songs, the 36-year-old – whose last concert here was in 2003 – displayed his characteristic rich musical texture.

From unplugged tunes like Regular Friends and rock pieces such as Ghost to songs with Chinese influences like Susan Said, David also proved he had the voice to match his repertoire's varied genres.

Now you know how he hits the high notes: Tao used very thick underwear so that the harness didn't hurt him.
TAIWANESE R&B singer David Tao is grateful that his Singapore fans are a well-behaved bunch.
At his concert last Saturday, a fan grabbed his waist as he went down to the front-row seats to mingle with the audience.
'If this was in Beijing, I would have had my trousers pulled down. Singaporeans are more restrained,' he said with a sigh of relief at the post-concert press conference.
Still, he enjoys the attention as it brings him closer to the audience, he said. 'Anywhere is okay, just no grabbing at my private parts,' he added with a laugh.
Not that he would have exposed himself even if caught with his pants down.
Tao, 36, was wearing very thick underwear at his concert. This was necessary, he said, as he was strapped to a harness for his opening act, which saw him being lowered from the ceiling.
'The harness cuts into the flesh, and wearing thick underwear makes it more comfortable,' he said.
He had the audience screaming when he did two somersaults in mid-air before landing on the stage.
It was clear that the 8,000-strong crowd - including fans from China, Hong Kong and Japan - could not get enough of him. Tao's parents were among them: Dad had flown in from Taipei, and Mum from Shanghai.
He was in top form, his voice going strong throughout the nearly three-hour concert.
Raised in Los Angeles, Tao has released four albums in his eight-year career. Already, his musical talent has led the media in Taiwan to dub him the 'godfather of R&B'.
Fans would tell you he has looks to boot, too.
His four costume changes at the concert showed off his trim frame and firm biceps as he belted out more than 20 hits. These included Ghost, Susan Said and Who Do You Love?, taken from his latest album, The Great Leap 2005.
He also sang Butterfly, a popular request among local fans.
He had written the song as a devotional piece to God, but rarely performs it live because the lyrics are difficult to remember, he said in an earlier interview.
He sailed through the song without any effort.
There was another treat for fans: a medley of 1980s English hits such as George Michael's Careless Whisper, Tears For Fears' Shout and Billy Joel's Uptown Girl.
Those aged below 30 would not know these songs, he quipped, but said he wanted to sing them anyway as he knew they would love it.
And they did, going by the applause and the number of people who got up to dance to the music.
Those who cannot get enough of him will have to wait for his next album, which he is working on now. 'It should be ready in the early half of next year,' he promised before calling it a night.
