Nov 22, 2005 All blogged up

MEDIA REPORTER
David Tao wishes he has more time for his blog.
Tao's online journal shares his thoughts on his work and life, but it will not stop at laidback chats. He intends to voice his opinions on Taiwanese tabloids for their speculative reports.
The Hong Kong-born singer has been lagging behind in his monthly entries on his official website www.davidtao.com. The last post was dated Oct 26.
Fans would not blame him for that, as he has been travelling for his Love Can World Tour 2005.
The Singapore leg, which will be held on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, is his third stop after Shanghai and Beijing.
About 80 per cent of the seats are taken. Tickets priced at $78 and 108 are sold out leaving only those at $138 and $168 available.
On his online journal, Tao updates his fans about his life. Most of his entries are random thoughts about his work as an entertainer, his cat Malau and his penchant for cars.
In a recent phone interview with Life!, Tao gushes about the benefits of blogging: 'It is a great, personal way to communicate. I can talk about my thoughts directly to my fans.'
Most importantly, Tao hopes to give his take on speculative reports by the Taiwanese paparazzi.
In his Sept 21 blog post, he lashed out at the tabloids, which had run pictures of him kissing two women other than his girlfriend, known only to the media as Joanne.
He compared the Taiwanese media to German propagandists during the Nazi regime.
In a more recent run-in with the paparazzi, his private conversation with his manager was recorded secretly and used out of context.
Tao says he has given up trying to clear the air.
'The media scene has become one that just revolves around unsubstantiated gossips and rumours. It is really unacceptable now,' he laments. 'I no longer care to retaliate or answer to them.'
But Tao clarifies that the pecks for the women were merely 'goodbye kisses', and his relationship with Joanne remains strong.
Asked if the state of things has made him want to hasten his dream as a movie director, he says that he hopes to be one before the age of 40. He laughs and reveals that he is already thinking about a script.
'I have started to write some things for the movie I want to do, but it won't be that soon. Maybe after my ongoing concert tour, and my new album, scheduled to be out next year.'
Tao promises the show on Saturday will be a visual treat.
Sets and props will transform the stage into a South American jungle, complete with a life-size replica of a helicopter.
He hopes his concert will raise awareness for social and environmental issues such as pollution and conservation.
He declines however, to say if Joanna will be attending the show in Singapore.
Still, he just might let fans know when he updates his blog.
