[center]i'm new, i'm not a musician, and compare to most of you here i'm certainly not a david tao expert. but i think i definitely deserve the title of a loyal fan, or, as i always prefered, a faithful supporter. so perhaps i have the right to say something here.
personally, dave's music brings me this very unique feeling, which i'm yet unable to find in few other musician's music. i think that through his music, dave's trying to communicate and express to us, who would have even the slightest interest, the way that he deals with his life, his problems, and perhaps loads other things that's been happening around him. i was so amazed that someone could be so willing to open up and reveal some very intimate thoughts and feelings; i could classify it as "showing off", but i couldn't help but being touched by dave's ability and courage, because i always considered sharing and winning people's trust 2 great gifts. so when i listen to him i'm kind of like hearing a friend out, and his music has this power to move me and make me care about what the stories' been telling me. i dont know where this power comes from, maybe dave was born an excellent story teller, and in that case he's definitely mastered the best way of making his stories to reach to people's hearts, by using one of the strongest weapons known to mankind -- music (he really has! when have we seen him using long and complicated words?). but sometimes i guess it's his character that's shining through, his music is soaked with his attitude, which, strangely enough, gave him the charm, made him a real and funny guy, a true and lively musician, instead of a celebrity figure.
sometimes i think that dave's music is full of contrasting characteristics. for one second we see a perfect gentleman who's got his heart broken by this absolutely beautiful lady and he's singing about the good old days and how he misses her; or he would bring us a cocktail of flowers, candle light dinners, romantic dates or even marriage, decorated with that dry sense of humour, that warming smile, and that annoyingly sexy atmosphere. he's mature and sensible, and yet sensitive and gentle; he left us ladies frowning and moaning (some may be screaming) "oh he's SO GORGEOUS!" and we simply cant lay a finger on him. then all of a sudden, he became this teenage skater boy in baggy clothes, a condom hat, chewing a gum and always wearing this naughty but nice kind of style smile. he's a boy on his way to become a man, he sees things but he couldn't find reasons or solutions, he loves playing hardly and dangerously but his heart is dependant and he kept searching for that "right thing". he's all about sarcasm, he teases the people who he cares the most, and he's got this girl who could always make him laugh, she's crazy about hip hop and rock & roll just like him... i love both of them, because they're both david. i guess most of us have more than just one "self" inside and sometimes we fight with ourselves inwardly. dave's music told me that i'm not alone, when i'm happy or sad, when i laugh or when i cry with enormous rage, when i'm proud of myself or wanting to kick myself, when i knew i could bear with it or when i felt like i couldn't survive... i knew there must be someone out there who cares, just as i cared for david and his music (i blushed when i typed this, talking about caring for him, i'd never really dont anything for dave :P maybe i should start some kind of a DT fan club here in england).
i know this isn't really about dave's music, but it's about how i felt for it. i dont know if any of you would agree, but i know all of you would be able to put up with it, cos after all, we're dave's fans, and therefore we've all got that attitude, rite? i dont suppose anyone would like this piece of shit very much, but i wish some of you would at least read it, and i shall be greatful ^Q^

It is ok that you write this in English. In fact some thoughts involving love and affection can not be well expressed in one language, so we resort to another language to make our feeling fully exposed. I am glad u will go to England. I am sure David will have concert there. London is also a center for pop music. Years ago Harlem Yu had MTV unplugged live there, the first unplugged live concert of an chinese musician. I am sure David will be the 2nd and the best!!!!! 作者: M一M 时间: 2004-4-27 00:00
hiyaa!! dude, i totally agree with what you're saying. no sh!t lah.. this is good! i've never actually met someone who could explain the way they felt for david.. in english :) and i'm glad i've finally met one. and i guess your writing explains a lot about the way i feel about david, too, more or less. seems like something i've never comprehended (why i like him, that is). o, and if he does go to london, make sure you go to his concert, take pictures and post them here! :P
tao forever~
ps. who's the girl david's with that you're referring to? 作者: Revit 时间: 2004-9-9 00:08
hey padfoot, glad to see u here in davidcn, you've been really courageous too by sharing your intimate thoughts & feelings with the rest of us which i'm sure one who've read and understood would've applaud for it. I was much feeling the same as you but perhaps not as in depth as you've triggered alots of my thoughts with the stuff you've covered here. I don't have the flair for writtings, as much as i wanted to have, it's kinda difficult for me to express it out in words and in this aspect but i'm glad you've done it wonderfully well and in English and have people like me reading it, sharing the same sentiments, you don't know how great it feels. But ya know, i always felt the biggest reward i've gain from David is when i started to look inwardly within myself and recognized that fact of my existence whenever i'm in that self-denial state. As people had said the biggest fear is none other but fear in yourself, David's music gave me that strength to face that true self. He has been really encouraging with what he had said "If you've a dream, runaway go for it!", or is it that he sung in that 22 song, "when you realised you could be waiting in vain, you could begin that journey to your dream even with you alone." That's how inspiriting he is. 作者: tangerina 时间: 2004-9-9 05:01
