单曲/专辑 榜冠军50cent







50 cent（50分，以下称他为50分）的成长史可以说充满了艰辛与痛苦，他是在一个很多说唱歌手喜欢描写，但是并未亲身经历的环境中长大：毒品，犯罪，械斗，监狱以及枪杀，在他年纪尚幼时，生命中本该是最亲近他的东西一一离去，成人后渴望成名但是路途一波三折，即将见到曙光时却几乎丢掉性命。历经千锤百炼的“50分”直到2002年终于得到说唱界手遮半变天的痞子阿姆（Eminem）赏识，签约后在2003年获得了期待已久的成功。
  50 cent原名科迪斯.杰克逊（Curtis Jackson），出生在纽约声名狼籍的贫民窟皇后区，生下来就几乎没见过父亲，而母亲是个贩毒的皮条客，在他8岁时就被莫名其妙卷入一场枪杀身亡，年幼的他在祖母家长大。打小他就在母亲影响下抢劫，既而贩毒，然后成为监狱的常客，直到90年代中期，“50分”把兴趣转向到了说唱。1996年，他遇到了Run-D.M.C的成员Jam Master Jay，他给了“50分”一盘录满节奏的磁带，然后让“50分”跟着节奏说唱。“50分”的表现给Jay留下了深刻的印象，随后将他带到了自己的JMJ公司。
但是“50分”却没有成功，于是他转而投靠在商业上获得巨大成就的说唱制作团队Trackmasters。在Trackmasters的帮忙下，“50分”与哥伦比亚唱片公司签定了合约，随后被关到纽约北部的一间录音室里，经过2个半礼拜后，他完成了36首歌曲，最终完成了第一张专辑《美圆的力量》（Power of the Dollar）。先行推出的三支单曲包括"Your Life\'s on the Line"、 "Thug Love" (与真命天子Destiny\'s Child合作)，以及 "How to Rob"。

　　 可是好容易开始理顺的生活又被打断，这件事就是连续刺杀事件。先行推出的单曲引起了不小的反响，可惜即便是这一点点名声似乎也让上帝嫉妒，在推出"How to Rob"不久，他就在曼哈顿西54街的 Hit Factory录音室前被刺伤，这还不算什么，因为随后他就险些命丧黄泉：2000年5月24日，他在皇后区牙买加161街被枪击（事发地点离两年半后Jam Master Jay被枪杀的地方不远），总共有9发9毫米子弹招呼在了他身上——一颗穿透他的脸，一颗打在手上，其他七颗分别打在胳臂和腿上。幸运的是，“50分”坚强的挺了过来，没有丧命。但是风波接踵而来，哥伦比亚唱片公司在得知这一消息之后，立刻取消了《美圆的力量》（Power of the Dollar）专辑发行的计划，并且直接与“50分”解约。

　　 于是“50分”在即将成名之前又一次回到原点。闯过生死关的他显然更加的坚强，他与一帮好友组成了G Unit，在制作人沙.蒙尼.XL（Sha Money XL，曾和50 cent同时与JMJ签约）的帮助下，开始了地下乐团的生活。自此开始两年间，G Unit录制了许多作品，这些作品中，有些是说唱名曲的翻唱（如Raphael Saadiq的"Be Here"，Wu-Tang Clan的"Ya\'ll Been Warned"），有些内容是嘲弄当时流行的说唱明星（主要是Ja Rule），有几首是“50”讲述自己被枪击的事情（"F*ck You"等），这些东西迅速在纽约街头传播开来。

　　 也许是“50分”的九九八十一难终于到头了，这时候所谓的“真命天子”降临了。那就是红得发紫的痞子阿姆（Eminem）。痞子阿姆听过“50”的东西后大加赞赏，在电台里宣称：“现在我最喜欢的说唱歌手就是50 Cent。”而且痞子阿姆还拉来了自己的导师，也就是说唱界的前辈级人物Dr. Dre招揽“50分”。面对如此梦幻阵容当然不用犹豫，“50”抓住这千载难逢的机会与痞子阿姆创建的公司（后来归Dre管理）Shady/Aftermath签定合约。

　　 有此二人协助自然顺风顺水。签约后的几个月里，“50分”在痞子阿姆和Dr. Dre的帮助下准备专辑《Get Rich or Die Tryin\'》，两位天皇巨星还各自操刀监制了专辑中的部分曲目，使得本来就颇受期待的专辑更加引人注目。在专辑完成之前，痞子阿姆就顺手提携了“50”一把，让其加入了自己主演的电影《8英里》原声专辑中，这首单曲"Wanksta" 在2002年底推出后大获成功，得到了公告牌第13名的好成绩；紧跟着就是Dr. Dre亲自操刀制作，专辑《Get Rich or Die Tryin\'》的首个单曲 "In da Club" ，结果一口气冲上了冠军宝座。随后， Interscope（Shady/Aftermath的母公司）开始正式发行《Get Rich or Die Tryin\'》专辑。

　　 就在专辑发行前的这段时间里，“50分”依然是各大媒体关注的焦点。最引人注目的是把他和Jam Master Jay被杀事件结合报道，此外还有他因持枪被逮捕等。这些事件让“50分”成为备受争议的人物，当然这丝毫不会影响2003年2月6日发行的《Get Rich or Die Tryin\'》专辑。仅仅5天时间这张专辑就卖出了87万2千张，这是自1991年5月销量统计系统成立以来，卖的最快的处女专辑。那些围绕在“50分”身边的新闻，以及专辑的热卖，使他成为了2003年被谈论最多的歌手。

　　 轮廓分明的肌肉，防弹背心，冰冷的十字架项链，50 cent看上去简直就是个完美的东海岸说唱歌手。而他的实绩也证明了自己的能力，争议小子接下来会怎么样，谁都不知道。
